 Capabilities

Our approach to advisory or consulting services covers the following suite of services focusing on OEM’s and contract manufacturers:

•     Turnaround & restructuring: We are prepared to rapidly execute when a business is already deteriorated in its market space for a protracted period of time. This may include selling a “re-invention” of the present business model, or a workout strategy engaging various stakeholders that is based on the abandonment of non-competitive manufacturing that cannot continue without a threat to the continued existence of the enterprise. This may entail developing a virtual manufacturing model of outsourced production.  Our analysis covers operational, financial, information-reporting, financing, and human capital issues. In the event the company has deteriorated to the point of shut-down, we can develop an orderly liquidation or matching of the business with a strategic or financial partner if possible.

•     Organizational planning: Deal with the reality of transitioning a portion or all of current production, procurement or distribution and the major organizational changes and often disruptions that must be factored into a broad-based plan. This may deal with issues as diverse as union negotiations, change management or workforce reductions.

•    Market entrance planning: Developing market-entry strategies and phased implementation should operations be contemplated in the target market.

•    Information systems/reporting: Develop state of the art communications that allow collaboration between constituencies that include the client, its customers, the suppliers and the supply chain service providers.

•    Cross-platform expertise: Offer integrated specialist services including: financial engineering; pre-production engineering and processes; legal support services; insurance research; logistics planning; business model overhaul, information systems changes, and even merger and acquisition services.

•    News and events reporting: We stay abreast of current developments from Asian politics to un-planned events that affect the outcome of an ongoing sourcing process and logistics issues like strikes or logjams where alternative shipping or receiving points must be created.

•   Timelines and benchmarking: These are hallmarks of effective planning to make execution less risky whether contemplating sourcing or development of an international presence, in-country. We develop vendor oversight and score-card programs (quality & fulfillment effectiveness) and continue to weigh the production, logistics, cargo, and delivery process to keep you abreast of realistic time-lines that affect the timing of your essential products or services.

•    Teaming: We work best in collaborative teams that involve MWI; occasionally sub-contracted specialists (see “Cross-platform expertise) we re commend, and always the client.

Our work product may consist of single reports, ongoing assessment, project management, continuing engagement or a proposal linked to procurement and sourcing activities derived from any of these consulting activities.
